The purpose of this two (2) hour course is to educate healthcare professionals on a systematic approach of examining and interpreting 12 lead ECGs.
By the end of this course, you will have the skills to:
✔️ Identify demographic data pertaining to the severity of coronary artery disease and occurrence of acute myocardial infarctions.
✔️ Correctly identify the following normal ECG components: isoelectric line, Q wave, R wave, and ST segment.
✔️ Describe the ECG characteristics of a normal 12 lead ECG.
✔️ Systematically assess and interpret a 12 lead ECG for abnormal patterns of ischemia, injury, and infarction.
✔️ Interpret ST elevation MI (STEMI or acute injury changes).
✔️ Describe potential treatment options for the patient experiencing acute myocardial damage.
✔️ Differentiate STEMI from non-STEMI and contrast the treatment priorities for each.
