The purpose of this (3) hour course is to provide an overview of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), its causes, diagnosis, latest management guidelines and therapeutic interventions.

By the end of this course, you will have the skills to:

✔️ Define Alzheimer’s disease.

✔️ Discuss the prevalence of the disease.

✔️ Identify modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease.

✔️ Describe how Alzheimer’s disease is diagnosed.

✔️ Identify two current FDA-approved medications used for the management of Alzheimer’s disease.

✔️ Delineate behaviors which may be exhibited by the patient with Alzheimer’s dementia.
