New Jersey Organ and Tissue Donation

The purpose of this (1) hour course is to educate registered nurses in the fundamental aspects of organ and tissue donation to meet the New Jersey Board of Nursing state requirement for continuing education in organ donation.

By the end of this course, you will have the skills to:

✔️ Compare and contrast the gap between the number of organs donated and the number of people waiting for transplants.

✔️ Delineate the organ donation process.

✔️ Examine the various agencies involved in organ transplantation.

✔️ Clarify the role of the procurement coordinator and the healthcare team in organ/tissue donation.

✔️ Summarize ethical considerations in organ/tissue donation.
