The purpose of this (1) hour course is to give you information about the structures and functions of the respiratory system and how to assess them. Understanding the fundamental structures and functions of the respiratory system will provide a knowledge base to give appropriate care to all patients you encounter and intervene effectively for those with alterations in oxygenation status.

By the end of this course, you will have the skills to:

✔️ Discuss the process of respiration in terms of ventilation, diffusion, and transport.

✔️ Delineate a pulmonary assessment.
