The purpose of this (1) hour course is to inform healthcare workers about the risks related to the administration of heparin and strategies to reduce the volume of adverse drug reactions related to heparin administration. Given the severity of the consequences of heparin errors, it is important that nurses adhere to standard medication safety procedures prior to administering heparin and other high alert drugs.
