The purpose of this (2) hour course is to teach nurses about the structures and functions of the cardiovascular system. The anatomical structures of the cardiovascular system work together to transport oxygenated blood and nutrients to the cells of the body and transport carbon dioxide and wastes from the cells to organs to eliminate waste. Understanding the fundamental structures and functions of the cardiovascular system will allow you to provide care for all patients you encounter and intervene effectively for those with alterations in cardiovascular status.
