The purpose of this (1) hour course is to present CNAs with information about the HIPAA law and its guidelines. This course will discuss confidentiality and privacy issues that come up in caring for patients.

By the end of this course, you will have the skills to:

✔️ Identify who is required to maintain patient confidentiality.

✔️ Recognize what parts of a CNAs job require HIPAA compliance.

✔️ Describe what PHI is and what it includes.

✔️ List what patients require the most protection of privacy.

✔️ Define the penalties for non-compliance with HIPAA.
